Frankly, it’s been a really crappy few weeks. I’m afraid there’s no better way to describe it really! After two years, Dee and I have gone our seperate ways. So yeah, that’s about how good it’s been. To further add to my woes, the bug decided to dump a load of oil all over the old man’s drive last time I took it out of the garage, and then the bus decided to blow a fuse the following weekend. If only everything in life was as easy to fix as a blown fuse…..
Anyway, one of the few good things to happen recently was that I got to see my old pals Brad and Matt at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Now I’d not seen Matt since January, so that in itself was worth the drive. But not only that, Edd China and the little fat annoying cockney from Discovery Channel’s Wheeler Dealers were making an appearance. Brad has got something of a man-crush on the lanky mechanic – perfectly understandably! The show is frankly enormous – much bigger than any of the VW shows I’ve been to – and there were some beautiful examples of a huge number of marques on display. And the best part: the Car of the Show award went to – you guessed it – a bug! Bearing in mind how immaculate it was, it’s not hard to understand why either!
